DISTRIBUTION FORMATS

Your story.
Ready for digital readers.

Consider the file, presentation, and channel details that support an eBook release.

Put the reading experience first

An eBook needs to work as a digital reading experience. Text flow, navigation, chapter structure, images, and links should be checked before a file is supplied to a platform.

Different books have different layout needs. A text-led novel and an illustrated reference title may need different preparation and review.

Prepare your digital information

  • A complete eBook file in the required format.
  • A clear cover image that remains legible at thumbnail size.
  • Title, author, description, language, and relevant categories.
  • Pricing and territorial availability decisions.
  • Details of any existing digital listings or distribution arrangements.

Check the channel requirements

Each digital platform has its own file, content, and listing requirements. Review current terms before choosing a route, especially if a title is already published elsewhere.

The plan should identify which channels are included, who maintains the listing, and how updates and reporting are handled.

Keep the editions consistent

Print and eBook editions should present a consistent identity while keeping their format-specific information accurate. Store the master details for each edition in one place.
